What does an STI screening test at our clinic involve?
We offer a range of STI tests and our doctors will work together with you to decide which will be most relevant for your specific situation.
Routine STI testing may be performed on a urine sample or a swab, to detect common infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, trichomoniasis or herpes, depending on the site of infection. Blood tests are also available for testing of HIV and syphilis.
Please note that some tests may have out-of-pocket fees from your chosen pathology providers, which are beyond our control. Please check with your provider regarding any extra fees for your tests.
How and when do I get my results?
Usually, you can expect the results to return within 1 week. Once your results have arrived, our friendly reception staff will inform you whether you need to arrange a follow up appointment with our doctors.
Our doctors will follow up with you if any treatment or further testing is required. Treatment is usually simple, and will prevent you developing serious health complications from unmanaged infections.
