Pregnancy Scans & Tests Checklist
We understand that juggling your day-to day tasks and preparation of having a baby, along with scheduling all the necessary scans and tests can be overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. Download our comprehensive checklist to help you stay organized and ensure you don't miss any important steps!
1st Antenatal Visit: Blood Test & Urine Test
During your first antenatal visit, blood and urine tests are conducted to establish your baseline health. These tests screen for conditions such as anemia, infections, and blood type, ensuring both you and your baby are healthy from the start.
6-10 Weeks: Ultrasound - Dating Scan
The dating scan is performed to confirm your pregnancy and determine the gestational age of your baby. This helps establish an accurate due date and assess early fetal development.
From 10 Weeks: NIPT Blood Test (Optional)
The Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is an optional blood test that screens for certain genetic conditions, such as Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, and Patau syndrome. It offers valuable information about your baby's health early in the pregnancy.
12-14 Weeks: Ultrasound - Nuchal Translucency Test
The nuchal translucency test is an ultrasound that measures the fluid at the back of your baby's neck. This measurement, combined with a blood test, helps assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome.
18-22 Weeks: Ultrasound - Morphology Scan
The morphology scan is a detailed ultrasound that examines your baby's anatomy, checking for any physical abnormalities. It also assesses the development of your baby's organs and measures growth.'
24-28 Weeks: Blood Test - Gestational Diabetes Screening
The gestational diabetes screening test checks for high blood sugar levels that can develop during pregnancy. Early detection and management of gestational diabetes are crucial to ensure a healthy pregnancy and reduce risks for both mother and baby.
Remember to schedule appointments with us after the tests are completed, and our doctors will help you arrange the referral for the next test and scans as required.
